Our services
How we can help
Five complementary services to help organizations prepare, respond and recover before, during and after emergencies and disasters.
01
Assessments
We assess risks, needs, preparedness and organizational capabilities. Our work helps identify gaps and prioritize improvements, providing a basis for decisions about plans, people, resources and continuity of services.
02
Advisory Support
We support the development, review and implementation of plans and improvements. This can include strengthening coordination, clarifying responsibilities and helping teams turn recommendations into practical actions before, during and after a disaster.
We design and deliver learning activities suited to participants’ roles, experience and responsibilities. Training can support managers, health professionals, operational teams and others involved in preparing for and managing emergencies and disasters.
03
Training
04
Exercises
We design, facilitate and evaluate tabletop exercises and simulations. These activities help organizations test plans, practice coordination and decision-making, identify gaps and agree on improvements.
05
Risk Communication
We help organizations develop clear, timely and audience-appropriate communication. Our support can include communication strategies, spokesperson preparation, communicating uncertainty and listening to concerns so that people can make informed decisions to protect their health and wellbeing.
Our Approach

Whole Health
We consider physical, mental and social health, wellbeing and continuity of essential services. This means looking at the needs of people and communities as well as the organizations and systems that support them.

All-hazards
We take an all-hazards approach, developing capabilities that can be used across natural, biological, technological and human-caused threats. We adapt those capabilities to the risks and operating conditions of each organization.

Readiness
We focus on the ability to act. Plans, trained teams and resources must be available and coordinated when needed. Our work helps organizations identify what is ready, what needs strengthening and which actions should come next.
The disaster cycle
Support across every phase
Our services apply before, during and after an emergency. Each phase asks different things of your organization, so the focus of our work changes with it.
Phase 1 · Before
Mitigation and Prevention
Assess risks and vulnerabilities and identify measures to reduce potential health impacts.
Phase 2 · Before
Preparedness
Develop plans, strengthen capabilities, train teams and prepare communication arrangements.
Phase 3 · During
Initial Response
Support activation, coordination, assessment of immediate needs and early communication.
Phase 4 · During
Prolonged Response
Help sustain operations, adapt capabilities, maintain essential services and update communication.
Phase 5 · After
Recovery
Review the response, capture lessons and support the restoration and improvement of capabilities.
